Privacy Policy
At CAPE, your trust and privacy are our top priorities. We collect only the information needed to process your orders, deliver your programs and services, and provide support.
Last updated: August 2026This policy explains what information we collect when you visit capechildsafety.com or purchase one of our programs, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language rather than legal jargon, because you should be able to understand it without a lawyer.
What We Collect
We collect three categories of information, and only what we genuinely need.
- Personal details. Your name, email address, phone number, and payment information when you make a purchase or contact us.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser type, device details, operating system, and how you move through the site. This is standard for any website and helps us fix problems and improve the experience.
- Voluntary information. Anything you choose to share with us, including feedback, survey responses, messages sent through our contact form, and information you provide to our AI Family Guide.
We do not require you to give us more than is necessary. If a field on a form is optional, you can leave it blank.
How We Use It
Every piece of information we hold serves one of these purposes.
- Process payments securely through Stripe and PayPal.
- Deliver your courses, books, and materials and give you access to your member area.
- Provide customer support and answer your questions.
- Send you updates about your programs, new safety information, and threat alerts if you have opted in.
- Improve your experience by understanding which pages and programs are most useful to families.
- Recommend the right Family Protection Plan based on the information you share with our AI Family Guide.
We do not use your information for any purpose you would not reasonably expect.
How We Protect It
- SSL encryption across the entire site, so every transaction and form submission is encrypted in transit.
- PCI compliant payment processing. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and PayPal. No payment information is ever stored on our servers.
- Firewalls and access controls protecting the site and its database, with malware scanning running continuously.
- Regular backups stored securely, so your account and progress are never lost.
- Restricted staff access. Only people who need your information to help you can see it.
No system on the internet is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can promise is that we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect what you trust us with, and that we will tell you promptly if anything ever goes wrong.
We Never Sell or Rent Your Data
This one is simple
We have never sold customer data and we never will. Your information is not a product. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers or data brokers under any circumstances.
The only parties who ever see your information are the service providers listed further down this page, and only to the extent needed to run the site and deliver what you have purchased. We may also disclose information if legally required to do so by a court order or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect a child from harm.
Children's Privacy
Child safety is our entire reason for existing, and that extends to how we handle data.
Our programs are purchased by adults, not children. Accounts on this site are created and held by parents, grandparents, guardians, educators, and other responsible adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under the age of 13.
Children watch our course material alongside a parent or guardian, using that adult's account. Children do not create their own logins and are not asked to provide personal information at any point.
When a parent tells our AI Family Guide about their children's ages or circumstances, that information is used solely to recommend the right protection plan for that family. It is tied to the parent's account, not to a separate child profile.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies, which are small text files stored on your device. They fall into three groups.
- Essential cookies. Required for the site to work. They keep you logged in, remember what is in your cart, and secure your session. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics cookies. Help us understand which pages families find useful so we can improve them. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
- Functional cookies. Remember your preferences, such as whether you have already dismissed the chat window.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking essential cookies will prevent parts of the site from working, including login and checkout.
Third Party Services We Use
Running a course platform requires a handful of trusted providers. Here is exactly who they are and what they see.
| Service | Purpose | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Card details, name, email, billing address |
| PayPal | Alternative payment method | Whatever PayPal requires to process your payment |
| Hostinger | Website hosting | Site data and server logs |
| YouTube | Course video delivery | Standard viewing data when a video plays |
| Mailchimp | Email delivery and automation | Name and email address for subscribers |
| Tidio | AI Family Guide chat | Chat messages and answers you provide |
| Google Analytics | Website usage statistics | Anonymised browsing data |
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We select providers with strong privacy practices and share only the minimum required for each service to function.
Course Videos and Member Content
Our course videos are hosted on YouTube as unlisted content and embedded directly into member pages on this website. Unlisted means the videos do not appear in YouTube search results, do not appear on any public channel page, and cannot be browsed by anyone.
We use YouTube's privacy enhanced embed mode, which means YouTube does not set tracking cookies on your device unless you actually press play on a video.
Your progress through the courses, including which lessons you have completed, is stored in your account on this website so we can show you your Family Safety Roadmap and recommend what to work through next.
Our AI Family Guide
The chat assistant on this site asks a small number of questions about your family so it can recommend the Family Protection Plan that fits your situation. Typically this covers how many children you have, their approximate ages, whether they use social media or online games, and any specific concerns you want to raise.
This information is used only to generate your recommendation. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to build a profile of your family for any purpose beyond helping you find the right program.
You are never required to use the chat assistant. All three Family Protection Plans are visible and purchasable without answering a single question.
Want your chat history deleted? Email us and we will remove it. There is no lengthy process and we will not ask you why.
Your Rights and Choices
You have meaningful control over your information at all times.
- Access. Request a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correction. Update anything that is wrong or out of date, either through your account or by contacting us.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information. Note that this will end your access to any programs you have purchased.
- Unsubscribe. Opt out of marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You will still receive essential account and purchase emails.
- Object. Tell us you do not want your information used in a particular way, and we will honour that wherever we are able.
- Portability. Request your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@capechildsafety.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days, and usually much faster.
How Long We Keep Your Information
- Account information is kept for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you return.
- Purchase records are retained for seven years, as required for tax and accounting purposes.
- Email subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe, after which your details are removed from active lists.
- Chat conversations are kept for a limited period to help us improve the assistant, then deleted.
- Analytics data is anonymised and aggregated, and does not identify you.
If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so except where we are legally required to retain certain records, such as proof of purchase for tax purposes.
Email Communications
There are two types of email you may receive from us.
Essential emails relate to your account and purchases. Order confirmations, login details, password resets, and important service notices. You cannot opt out of these while you hold an active account, because you need them.
Optional emails include safety alerts, new threat information, updated checklists, new program announcements, and educational content for parents. You choose whether to receive these, and you can stop at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
We do not send daily emails and we do not pass your address to anyone else who might.
International Visitors
CAPE is based in the United States and our website and services are hosted on servers located in the United States and Europe. If you access our site or purchase from outside these regions, your information will be transferred to and processed in these locations.
Data protection laws vary between countries. By using this site and providing your information, you consent to this transfer and processing. We apply the same standard of care to every family's data regardless of where they live.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our services develop or as legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised.
If we make a significant change to how we handle your information, we will tell you directly by email rather than quietly editing this page and hoping you notice. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy, want to exercise any of your rights, or simply want to understand something better, please get in touch. We would rather you asked than wondered.
Get in Touch About Privacy
We respond to all privacy enquiries within 30 days, and usually within 24 hours on weekdays.
